4-DAY SAFARI ITINERARY: TARANGIRE AND NGORONGORO CRATER

DAY 1: ARUSHA – TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK – KARATU

Your adventure begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel in Arusha. After a short briefing with your safari guide, you will drive towards Tarangire National Park, approximately 2–3 hours from Arusha.

Tarangire is one of Tanzania’s most beautiful wildlife areas and is particularly famous for its large elephant populations, enormous baobab trees and seasonal wildlife concentrations.

Upon arrival, you will enter the park and begin your game drive. Keep your camera ready as you explore the park in search of elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, antelopes, buffaloes, lions and many species of birds.

You will enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated picnic area before continuing your game drive through the afternoon.

Later in the afternoon, you will leave Tarangire and drive towards Karatu, where you will check in at your accommodation, enjoy dinner and relax for the evening.

DAY 2: KARATU – NGORONGORO CRATER – MTO WA MBU

After an early breakfast, you will depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Upon arrival, your safari vehicle will descend into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. Often described as one of Africa’s greatest wildlife destinations, the crater provides an exceptional environment for wildlife viewing.

During your game drive on the crater floor, you may encounter large herds of zebra and wildebeest, buffaloes, elephants, hippos, lions and other wildlife. With luck, you may also have the opportunity to see the endangered black rhinoceros.

The crater’s combination of grasslands, wetlands, woodland and other habitats supports an extraordinary variety of wildlife within a relatively small area.

You will enjoy a picnic lunch inside the crater before continuing your game drive.

In the afternoon, you will ascend from the crater and continue towards Mto wa Mbu, where you will check in at your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

DAY 3: MTO WA MBU – LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK – MTO WA MBU

After breakfast, you will drive to nearby Lake Manyara National Park, one of Tanzania’s most scenic wildlife destinations.

The park is known for its groundwater forests, open grasslands, wildlife-rich areas and the seasonal lake that attracts large numbers of birds.

During your game drive, you will have the opportunity to look for elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, baboons, hippos and a variety of bird species. Lake Manyara is also well known for reports of tree-climbing lions, although wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed.

Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated area before continuing your exploration of the park.

Later in the afternoon, you will leave Lake Manyara and return to your accommodation in Mto wa Mbu.

Spend the evening relaxing and enjoying dinner after another exciting day in the Tanzanian wilderness.

DAY 4: LAKE MANYARA VIEWPOINT – ARUSHA

After breakfast, enjoy a scenic Lake Manyara Viewpoint cycling experience, offering an opportunity to appreciate the beautiful landscapes around Mto wa Mbu and Lake Manyara from a different perspective.

The cycling activity is subject to weather conditions and operational availability. Guests who prefer not to cycle can choose an alternative activity or relax at the accommodation.

After the morning activity, return for lunch before beginning your journey back to Arusha.

The drive to Arusha takes approximately 2–3 hours, depending on road and traffic conditions.

Upon arrival in Arusha, your 4-day safari comes to an end.

Optional: If your travel plans include Zanzibar, we can arrange a transfer to the airport for your onward flight, subject to your flight schedule.
